Tiffany M. Peterson

Patient Activist and Blogger

Tiffany is a native New Yorker based patient advocate whose inspiration arose from her very own personal battles within the healthcare system after being diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in 2010.

She is a powerful voice for all patients especially those living with Chronic Illness creating her first patient driven community, Friends Against Lupus which now has over 12K members. Two years later she founded LupusChat, a patient driven Twitter chat created to spark innovative discussion between patients and healthcare professionals designed to educate both sides of the spectrum.

Tiffany intends to break the communication barriers between patients and healthcare stakeholders helping to improve quality of life for those living with chronic illness while educating healthcare professionals on implementing patient centricity and practicing participatory medicine.

As a proud member of The Walking Gallery, she travels across the country speaking on patient empowerment, centricity, and communication. After presenting at Social Media Week NY, e-Patient Connections, Partnership for Patients, Epharma, Digital Pharma East, Health Datapalooza, and ONC National Health IT consumer Summit in Washington D.C. she was was named a top influential ePatient to follow on social media.
